The workshop

Behind the Plans

Roversaga Bongo Gardn is a small, independent garden workshop. We write for householders who want music in the garden without upsetting the neighbours, ruining good drums or building something they will regret.

How we work

Our guides start in real gardens: terraced back yards, suburban lawns and shared courtyards. We mark circles with rope, test shade at different hours, leave instruments in stores through damp weeks and host sessions with neighbours invited. What survives that testing becomes advice.

We treat sound as one more material in the garden plan, alongside shade, seating and surfaces. That means we care as much about access widths, drainage and finish times as about rhythms.

Independence

We are not affiliated with any instrument maker, garden retailer or shade manufacturer. Where we name brands or organisations, such as Remo, Freenotes Harmony Park, Percussion Play or the Royal Horticultural Society, it is because they are useful reference points, not because we are paid to mention them.

Our limits

We are not acousticians, lawyers or structural engineers. For permanent structures, planning questions or noise disputes, please speak to a qualified professional or your local authority.

Practical first

Every guide ends with a checklist you can take into the garden.

Reversible by default

We favour layouts and structures you can test, adjust or remove.

Neighbour-aware

Enjoyment that depends on someone else's discomfort is not a good plan.
